Dr. Cynthia I. Rivera is the Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Mount Sinai Medical Center. She is a graduate of University of Nebraska Medical Center. Following graduation in 2004, she moved to Miami where she completed an internship and residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami. She then spent a year there as a Chief Medical Resident, followed by a year as teaching faculty.
From 2009-2011, she completed her fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami. She joined Mount Sinai Medical Center in 2011. She has voluntary faculty appointments as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Florida International University and Nova Southeastern University and is very active in medical education with students, interns and residents at Mount Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. Rivera’s fields of interest are general infectious disease, HIV and hepatitis C.
